Final Fantasy X Dark Aeons

The Dark Aeons are super-powerfull versions of normal Aeons, sent out to kill you by summoners who condem you for rejecting Yevon. They are VERY hard to beat, and your stats must be very high in order for you to even consider taking them on. Please note that the Dark Aeons are only available in the international version of FFX.

When fighting Dark Aeons, do the following:
· Cast all protective spells - shell, protect, etc.
· Cast Hastega
· Have the Ribbon ability on at least one of your character's armour
· Have the Celestial weapons
· Cast Auto-life on all
· It is reccomended you have things such as Auto-Haste and Auto-Phoenix

Dark Valefor - HP: 800,000
The easiest of the Dark Aeons to beat. He is encountered when you return to Besaid Island. Dark Valefor can only do upwards of 9,999 damage at all times, so if you have more then 9,999 HP this should not be too hard. Dark Valefor will always start the battle off with energy ray, so summon an Aeon to block the attack. Once Dark Valefor is dead, you'll be allowed back into the village.

Dark Ifrit - HP: 1,400,000
Go to the Al Bhed Home. A summoner will call Dark Ifirit and the fight will begin. Unlike Valefor, Ifrit's attacks can deal more then 9,999 damage. However, he can only target one character at a time, so use Auto Phoenix to take advantage of the situation. Remember to block his overdrive with an Aeon, since his attack will probably wipe out your characters in one go. Don't think you can use fire eater either - all his attacks deal non-elemental damage.

Dark Ixion - HP: 1,200,000
Go to the Thunder Plains. You will encounter someone who will then run away. Two summoers will come, and they will summon Dark Ixion. Ixion has to be defeated twice in order to kill him for good; there is a save sphere in between the two battles, however only use it to recover HP and MP, resetting them game will cause you to have to beat the two Ixions again.
In his first form, Ixion will use a strange spell called Thundaja, which is a Thundaga spell that a) cannot be reflected and b) deals non-elemental damage. His attacks cause full break and sleep, so have Ribbon at the ready. Aerospark is his overdrive in the first match. Be very carefull in the first fight too, because Ixion will auto-counter all normal physical attacks you throw at him.
In the second fight, it's more easier. This time Ixion will not counter your attacks, and his overdrive is now a might Thor's Hammer attack - but just use an Aeon to block it.

Dark Shiva - HP: 1,100,000
Go to Macalania Temple. There will be a group of people there, and they will summon Dark Shiva.
In this battle, Dark Shiva has 255 agility, so you need to max your agility for this battle. Her heavenly strike instantly kills a single target, no matter what. Hastega and max agility will give you an edge in this battle. When she is about to use Diamond Dust, summon an Aeon to block. Shiva has fairly low HP so she should be easy to kill once you get around her agility.

Dark Bahamut - HP: 4,000,000
Go back to the chamber you were in when you defeated Yunalesca. Dark Bahamut will spring out of nowhere, and the battle will begin.
With max defense his attacks deal around 12 to 24 thousand damage. His attacks inflict stone so you need Ribbon or stoneproof. His impluse attack deals damage to all your characters, and puts full break on all of them. Use dispel to clear full break. Bahamut will usually use impulse and them use Mega Flare to kill you off when his overdrive bar is full. Use Auto life for impulse, then an Aeon to block Mega Flare. Make sure your defence is maxed out for this fight, becuase this is a really tough battle.

Dark Yojimbo - HP: 1,600,000
Go into the cave where you got Yojimbo. Head to the back of the cave, and then try to run out down the south passage. A summoner will appear, go up to him and the fight will begin. In order to fully beat Yojimbo, you will have to fight him five times. There is a savesphere, but if you reset your game after saving, you'll have to start over (but do use the sphere to recover HP/MP). The first fight against Yojimbo, you will be ambushed, however Auron's Masamune will give you the ability to go first. Switch to Yuna and summon an aeon to take the hit, then, after it dies, your party's turns will be replenished, and you'll be able to cast protect, auto-life, etc. Yojimbo's evasion is very high, so use aim as much as possible, and use quick hit, to get the attacks in. Beware when Yojimbo's overdrive bar is full, as this will mean he is about to use Zanmato. You MUST summon an aeon to block the attack - if your party is hit by Zanmato, it's game over - and auto-life will not save you from Zanmato, either. Once you've beaten Yojimbo on the first round, just venture down the cave and you'll encounter him four more times. Beat Yojimbo four more times, and he'll be officially defeated.
